The Backup Body

Raised her entire life to be a spare body for a dying client, a clone discovers — at the exact wrong moment — that she wants to keep being herself. A gripping story about identity, consent, and what happens when a person built for a purpose refuses it.

“Nadia Rees had been grown, gestated, and raised for one explicit purpose she had known clearly her entire twenty-six years of life: to serve as a biological backup body for Delphine Voss, the wealthy client whose genetic template Nadia shared exactly.”
